What Is It Used For?
Phendimetrazine used for the short term management of obesity,
including weight loss and maintenance of weight loss. It is a
short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of
obesity.
How Is It Used?
Take the medication with a full glass of water; it should be taken
on an empty stomach 1 hour before meals. If you are taking the
sustained release formula take it once. Immediate release formula
can be taken twice or thrice daily. An evening dose may be taken
to overcome nighttime hunger. Do not crush or chew the medication,
swallow it whole. Take the medication as per your doctor's prescription
and advice.
Are There Possible Side Effects?
Phendimetrazine can cause side effects like abdominal discomfort,
abnormal redness of the skin, anxiety, blood pressure elevation,
blurred vision, breast development in males, bruising, changes
in sex drive, chest pain, constipation, depression, diarrhea,
difficulty with voluntary movements, dizziness, drowsiness, dryness
of the mouth, feelings of discomfort, feelings of elation, feeling
of illness, hair loss, headache, hives, impotence, inability to
fall or stay asleep, increased heart rate, increased seizures
in epileptics, increased sweating, increased volume of diluted
urine, irregular heartbeat, jitteriness, menstrual upset, muscle
pain, nausea, nervousness, overstimulation, painful urination,
palpitations, pupil dilation, rash, restlessness, shortness of
breath or labored breathing, stomach and intestinal disturbances,
tremors, unpleasant taste, vomiting. Consult your doctor if any
such adverse effect bothers you.
Is It Safe?
Do not take Phendimetrazine if you are allergic to appetite suppressants,
avoid this drug if you have severe hardening of the arteries,
an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, or severe high blood pressure,
or if you are agitated, have a history of drug abuse or are taking
an MAO inhibitor. Make sure to take doctor's advice if you have
undergone any such problem.

What If I Miss A Dose?
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost
time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double
or extra doses. If you are taking the immediate-release Tablet
of Phendimetrazine, go back to your regular schedule at the next
meal.
How Should It Be Stored?
The medication should be store at room temperature in a tightly
closed container. Protect it from excessive heat. Keep the medication
away from children.
Anything Else I Should Know?
Be precocious when driving, operating machinery, or performing
other hazardous activities. Phendimetrazine may cause dizziness,
blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms
of extreme tiredness. Avoid the medication if you face such effects.
Do not stop taking the drug without doctor's approval.
